Creating and managing contracts
Archive and restore contracts
Move closed contracts out of the active list and restore them when needed.
Last updated August 25, 2026
Archive a closed contract when you want to remove it from the active contract list without deleting its record.
Contracts that are signed, rejected, expired or voided can be archived. Drafts and active signing cycles must be handled through their available draft or lifecycle actions instead.
Archive a contract
- Open Contracts.
- Find the closed contract.
- Open its actions menu and choose Archive.
The contract moves out of the active list. Its document, status, signatures and recorded history are preserved.
Find an archived contract
Open Contracts and apply the Archived filter. You can search and review archived contracts from this view.
Restore a contract
- Open the Archived filter.
- Find the contract you want to return to the active list.
- Open its actions menu and choose Restore contract.
Restoring removes the archived marker and returns the contract to the active list. It does not reopen signing, change the contract's lifecycle status or make a completed version editable.
If you need an editable copy of an archived contract, restore it first and then use Duplicate when that action is available.
