Understand parties, signees and team members

Parties, signees and team members play different roles in Scriboflow. One person can fit more than one role, but adding them in one place does not automatically add them elsewhere.

Parties belong to contracts

A party is a person or organisation involved in an agreement. Party details can be reused across contracts so names, addresses and other information do not need to be entered from scratch every time.

Adding a party describes who the contract concerns. It does not give that person access to your Scriboflow organisation. See Add parties to a contract for the detailed steps.

Signees act on a contract

A signee is a person selected to sign a particular contract. Their name and email address determine who receives the secure signing link. Depending on the contract, a signee may represent a party, but the signee is still the individual who takes the signing action.

Review each signee's email address and signing order before sending. External signees do not need a Scriboflow account to review and sign through their link.

Team members use the organisation

Team members are colleagues who can sign in and work inside your Scriboflow organisation. Their organisation role controls whether they can manage access. Owners manage roles; owners and administrators manage invitations and member removal; members cannot manage organisation access.

Inviting a colleague as a team member does not make them a party or signee on every contract. Add those contract roles only where they are relevant. For workspace access, continue with Invite your team members.
