Understand starter and saved templates
Learn how Scriboflow's ready-made starter templates differ from your organisation's saved templates.

Templates give you reusable contract content without changing the original each time you start a contract. Scriboflow separates starter templates from the templates saved by your organisation.
Starter templates
Starter templates are ready-made starting points supplied in Scriboflow. You can review one, save a copy and adapt that copy to your organisation's needs. The starter remains separate, so your changes do not alter the original supplied version.
Use a starter when you want a structured first draft. Always review its terms for the specific agreement before sending; a template is reusable content, not a substitute for your organisation's own legal review.
Saved templates
Saved templates belong to your organisation. They can contain the contract structure, reusable wording, clauses, data fields and smart references your team wants to use again.
Starting a contract from a saved template creates a separate draft. Changes to that draft do not update the template. To affect future contracts, edit the saved template itself. Depending on the available actions, you can also rename, duplicate or delete a saved template.
Choose the right starting point
Use a starter template when you want to adapt Scriboflow's ready-made content. Use a saved template when your organisation already has an approved structure or when you want to preserve a customised version for reuse.
Give saved templates clear names so colleagues can tell which version to use. Continue with Create and manage a saved template or Save and customize a starter template.
