Frequently asked questions
Do recipients need a Scriboflow account?
Learn how external recipients review and sign contracts without joining your organisation.
Last updated August 26, 2026
No. External recipients can review and sign a Scriboflow contract through the secure link in their email without creating a Scriboflow account.
How access works
When you send a contract, Scriboflow emails the intended recipient a link for that contract. The recipient opens it to review the document and use the actions available to them, such as signing, requesting changes or rejecting.
The link is intended for the named recipient and should not be forwarded or posted in a shared channel. If a different person needs to act, update the recipient from the sender side using the actions available for the contract's status.
An external recipient is not added to your Scriboflow organisation. They cannot browse your other contracts, templates or organisation settings through the signing link.
When an account is needed
A Scriboflow account is needed when someone should work inside your organisation as a team member. Owners and administrators invite those colleagues separately through the organisation's member settings.
