What is the difference between a party, signee and team member?

These roles describe different relationships to Scriboflow and a contract.

The three roles

A party is a person or organisation involved in an agreement. Party records hold reusable details and show who the contract concerns.

A signee is the individual selected to sign a particular contract. Their email address receives the secure signing link. A signee may represent a party, but the person is still added separately as the one who acts.

A team member is a colleague with an account inside your Scriboflow organisation. Their owner, administrator or member role controls organisation access. Being a team member does not automatically make the person a party or signee on every contract.

Access stays separate

Adding an external party or signee does not give them workspace access. They can use their secure link for the contract without seeing your organisation's other content. To let a colleague enter the workspace, an owner or administrator must invite them as a team member.

One person can have all three roles when appropriate, but each must be assigned in the relevant place.
