An attachment cannot be uploaded or previewed

Check attachment format, size and contract limits while keeping the original file safe.

Last updated August 26, 2026

Keep the original file on your computer while troubleshooting. Removing or replacing an attachment should not be your first step if it is the only copy.

Check format and limits

Open the file locally to confirm that it is readable and not corrupted or password-protected. Scriboflow currently supports common attachment formats including PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, MD, HTML, HTM, CSV, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, PNG, JPG, JPEG and WEBP.

The current limits are 25 MB per attachment, up to 10 attachments and 100 MB in total for a contract. Check both the individual file and the contract's existing attachments. Renaming a file does not convert its format.

Try the upload safely

  1. Save a clean local copy with a clear filename.
  2. Return to the contract's attachment step.
  3. Select the file once and keep the page open while it uploads.
  4. Confirm that the filename appears before leaving.
  5. Open the preview where available.

If upload succeeds but preview does not, download or open the attachment through the available action to distinguish a preview problem from a damaged file. Do not send the contract until you have confirmed the intended attachment is present and readable.

Contact support

If the issue continues, provide the organisation name, contract title or ID, filename extension, approximate size, number and total size of attachments, browser, attempt time and exact error. Do not share confidential content unless approved.

For normal attachment management, see Add and manage contract attachments.
