Set up and switch organisations

Understand organisation workspaces and move safely between the organisations you can access.

An organisation is the workspace that holds its contracts, templates, parties, Vault documents, members and settings. Your account can have access to more than one organisation, but their content stays separate.

Set up an organisation

When you create an organisation, use the business or team name that colleagues will recognise. Review the organisation settings and add the colleagues who need access. The person who owns the organisation controls member roles, while owners and administrators can manage invitations and remove members.

Avoid creating a second organisation simply to organise a group of contracts. Contracts within an organisation can be found through search and filters. Create another organisation only when the workspace, membership or contract collection needs to remain separate.

For team access, see Invite your team members.

Switch organisations

If your account belongs to several organisations:

  1. Open your account or organisation menu.
  2. Select the organisation you want to use.
  3. Check the organisation name before creating, editing or sending a contract.

The dashboard and navigation update to show the selected organisation's content. A contract created in one organisation does not automatically appear in another.

Keep access clear

Use the organisation's member settings to confirm who can enter the workspace. If an expected organisation is missing, make sure you signed in with the email address that received the invitation and that the invitation was accepted. Ask an owner or administrator to resend it if necessary.

Before making member changes, read Understand owner, admin and member roles.
