Customize the signing email and send the contract

Write a clear recipient message, confirm delivery details and send for signature.

Last updated August 26, 2026

The signing email tells recipients why they are receiving the contract and what you need them to do. Keep it clear and confirm every address before sending.

Write the message

Add a subject that identifies the agreement without exposing unnecessary confidential detail. In the message, explain the context, the expected action and who recipients should contact with business questions.

Scriboflow requires the relevant subject and message fields before sending. You can also set the signing deadline and reminder schedule. For those controls, see Manage signing deadlines and reminders.

Complete the final check

  1. Open Preview and read the full contract.
  2. Confirm parties, signees and each email address.
  3. Review the signature method and signing order.
  4. Check the deadline, subject and message.
  5. Confirm required data fields and attachments.
  6. Select the send action when everything is correct.

If Scriboflow identifies missing information, return to the named contract step. Do not bypass the validation by removing required content.

Confirm the send

After sending, check that the contract has left draft status and appears in the expected signing state. The first successful external send counts towards the organisation's contract allowance. Later resends and status changes do not create a new allowance use for the same contract; see Understand contract allowances.

Use the contract activity history to confirm delivery events and recipient actions. If the contract remains a draft or displays an error, preserve your work and follow A contract cannot be sent.
